Bigmate Racing launches with Hazelwood for 2017 Super2 Series
Todd Hazelwood is excited to welcome Bigmate as this year’s naming rights partner, which will spearhead his 2017 campaign in the Supercars Dunlop Super2 Series.
The 21-year-old will drive for Bigmate Racing for the season, in a Holden VF Supercar prepared by Matt Stone Racing.
"I am very proud to reveal Bigmate as our new naming rights partner for 2017. The car looks fantastic and I am really looking forward to what success we can achieve working together this season both on and off track," Hazelwood said.
"2017 marks my fourth year into the Dunlop Super2 Series, and it is incredible to have support from so many people and brands ... I cannot wait to represent each and every one of the them on track in the Bigmate Racing Supercar this year.
"This season will also see my continued partnership with iseek Communications, along with major support from Truck Dealers Australia, GRK Plumbing and Venn IT Solutions.”
Not only will Bigmate be naming rights of Hazelwood’s Supercar, but also Jason Gomersall’s A9X Torana, which will be campaigned in the 2017 Australian Touring Car Masters Series.
Bigmate Managing Director Mark Shield says Bigmate are looking forward to a strong and successful partnership with the team.
“We are delighted to be coming on as naming rights partner for Bigmate Racing,” Shield said.
“Our vehicle tracking technology is all about accuracy, speed and reliability, which aligns perfectly with how Jason, Todd and Matt Stone Racing approach their motor sport.”
Gomersall added how Bigmate were a minor partner of the team last year, and why this new partnership is fantastic for the team.
“I am absolutely stoked to have Bigmate on board as the naming rights partner for our race team in 2017, it is fantastic to have Bigmate step in to such a major role in our team and to join our existing partners such as Truck Dealers Australia and GRK Plumbing for the 2017 season,” Gomersall said.
“Bigmate were involved with us in a small way last year and as the year unfolded it became very apparent to all involved that our motor sport program was a perfect fit for Bigmate.
“If it has wheels and moves, they have a solution to track it! We have even used Bigmate to track my A9X TCM car around Queensland Raceway at over 200kms per hour.”
Hazelwood and Gomersall will be testing at Queensland Raceway on Thursday to shakedown their new livery for the season.
Bigmate Racing will make their racing debut at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, where they’ll be entered in both the Supercars Dunlop Super2 Series and Australian Touring Car Masters on 2-5 March.
